On the morning of the 19th, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Joo-ho presided over a meeting on economic security strategy at the Government Seoul Building.

Attendees at the meeting included the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Office for Government Policy Coordination, the acting Minister of Economy and Finance, the head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters, and the first vice minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Participants discussed the response direction for the second technology consultation with the United States, scheduled for the 20th to 22nd in Washington, D.C. They also shared the results of the Korea-U.S. ministerial consultation established during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministerial meeting held last week.

The acting minister requested to negotiate patiently and seriously with the United States under the principles of prioritizing national interests and mutual benefit, aiming to derive the 'July package' (a comprehensive agreement reached in July).

He also asked the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and related ministries to cooperate closely and to communicate continuously with the National Assembly and the public during the consultation process.
