A man in his 70s has been arrested for damaging a banner supporting Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate.

On the 17th, the Jungnang Police Station in Seoul stated that they had obtained an arrest warrant for the man, referred to as A, on charges of violating the Public Official Election Act and injuring a special public servant in the execution of his duties.

A is accused of damaging a presidential campaign banner of Lee Jae-myung, which was installed over the Ihwa Bridge in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, around 9:08 a.m. on the 15th. A is also accused of injuring three police officers who responded to a 112 emergency call. A was arrested at the scene.
