A man who assaulted journalists at the Seoul Western District Court during a disturbance was sentenced to 10 months in prison.
The Criminal Division 11 of the Seoul Western District Court, presided over by Director General Kim Woo-hyun, sentenced Mr. Woo to 10 months in prison on the 16th for injuring journalists by hitting them with a backpack during the disturbance.
Mr. An, who was charged with trespassing by crossing the outer fence of the western district court and entering the court premises, was also sentenced to 10 months in prison.
Mr. Nam and Mr. Lee, who were charged with assaulting police officers by kicking or headbutting them, were each sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year probation and 1 year in prison with a 2-year probation, respectively.
Previously, the prosecution sought sentences of 1 year and 6 months for Mr. Woo, Mr. Nam, and Mr. Lee, and 1 year for Mr. An.
On the 14th, the court sentenced two defendants to 1 year and 6 months and 1 year in prison, respectively, for trespassing into the court premises and damaging the exterior tiles of the building.
