On the 13th, the law firm Jipyeong announced on the 14th that it held a joint seminar on 'India entry strategy and dispute response' with the local Indian law firm Khaitan & Co.

The seminar began with opening remarks from Jeong Cheol, a partner attorney at Jipyeong, and Nishi Kant Sing, the deputy ambassador of the Indian Embassy in South Korea.

Next, Takafumi Toyoda, project manager at Marubeni Corporation in Japan, presented on 'Current status and key considerations of major investment areas in India.' Manager Takafumi noted, "India has different requirements for operating enterprises depending on each industrial complex, so it is important to verify these carefully."

Following that, Oh Gyu-chang, a senior foreign attorney at Jipyeong, presented on 'Overview of investment in India and case studies of disputes.' Oh remarked, "India is characterized by fierce disputes, with both parties mobilizing all means to fight vigorously before the main litigation hearings." He added, "Even if the other side shows a tough stance initially, it is important to respond calmly and coolly."

Finally, Vivek Sriram and Ravitej Chilumuri, partners at Khaitan & Co, presented on 'Dispute response and contract drafting strategies in India.' Attorney Vivek Sriram stated, "Understanding Indian law is crucial when negotiating exit-related content in joint venture contracts." He continued, "Due to foreign exchange regulations, investors cannot sell their equity to foreign investors below fair market value."

Oh Gyu-chang, a foreign attorney at Jipyeong, said, "We will assist domestic corporations to successfully enter the Indian market and conduct their business."
