The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced on the 14th that it will operate 'youth cafes,' job support spaces for young people, at 88 locations nationwide this year. This is an increase of 25 locations from 63 last year.

Youth cafes are a type of job support center established last year by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and local governments to assist young people in finding employment.

It supports various job support programs such as resume writing, speech workshops, and personal color analysis. The goal is to enhance the job seeking motivation of young people and to find and consolidate corporations looking for employees.

Anyone aged 15 to 34 can freely use the youth cafes. However, those over 35 can participate if recognized as needing support under local government ordinances.

According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor, more than 46,000 young people visited youth cafes at 63 locations nationwide last year.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to provide existing youth job support programs this year, as well as operate parenting classes. This is to encourage parents to support their children in participating in job support programs, including youth cafes.

Hong Kyung-ui, the youth employment policy director at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, said, "We will actively support the youth cafe so that it can become a central space for young community interactions beyond employment and career concerns."
