According to the legal community that day, Kim's side submitted a letter of reason for non-attendance to the team investigating the Myung Tae-kyun allegations at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office, headed by Vice Administrator Lee Ji-hyung.

Kim's side reportedly mentioned in the letter that if the investigation into the allegations of intervening in nominations by a specific political party is carried out, speculative reporting could be generated, raising concerns that it might affect the early presidential election on June 3.

Kim was accused in October last year of intervening in nominations by allegedly receiving the results of a public opinion poll from Myung Tae-kyun during the last presidential election and helping former People Power Party lawmaker Kim Young-sun in exchange for the expense. She is also suspected of having intervened in the nomination of the People Power Party candidate for Pohang mayor in the 2022 local elections. Additionally, she is suspected of having exerted influence to enable former prosecutor Kim Sang-min to run in the Changwon district during last year's general election.

Previously, the prosecution sent a request for attendance to Kim, demanding that she appear at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on the 14th to be investigated as a suspect for violating the Political Fund Act and the Public Official Election Act.
