The Ministry of the Interior and Safety noted on the 12th that local government tax revenue for the first quarter of this year was estimated at 25.8 trillion won. This represents an increase of 1.7 trillion won compared to the same period last year.
Looking at the revenue by major tax items, the local government consumption tax increased the most, amounting to 8.2 trillion won, which is an increase of 600 billion won compared to the same period last year.
Additionally, the acquisition tax and local income tax are each 6.7 trillion won and 3.8 trillion won, respectively. Both have increased by 500 billion won compared to the same period last year.
The progress rate for total local government tax compared to the budget for the first quarter of this year is 22.4%, which is an increase of 0.7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
The progress rate for the acquisition tax is 26.7%, which is an increase of 1.8 percentage points compared to the same period last year. The local income tax is also at 18.4%, an increase of 2.0 percentage points. In contrast, the local government consumption tax decreased to 30.7%, a decline of 0.4 percentage points.
