The government noted on the 12th regarding the 21st presidential election, "We will mobilize all capabilities at the government level, including the prosecution and police, to thoroughly block and enforce against the five major electoral crimes, including bribery, illegal organization mobilization, and public officials' election involvement."

Minister Park Seong-jae and acting Minister of the Interior and Safety Ko Gi-dong delivered this statement during a public address on the day marking the start of the presidential election campaign.

Minister Park and acting Minister Ko said, "The upcoming election, held due to the presidential vacancy, will be fairer and cleaner than ever, and the government will do its utmost to ensure this," adding, "We will take strict measures according to law and principles against illegal acts that undermine the fairness of the election and against violations of election neutrality by public officials."

In addition, the government announced, "We will focus on monitoring violations of regulations related to public opinion polls, the dissemination of false information using various media including social media (SNS), and election-related violence," and stated, "We plan to conduct a thorough investigation against all illegal acts that occur during the election process based on the principle of zero tolerance, mobilizing the entire government’s capabilities."

The government also stated, "We will thoroughly investigate and hold accountable for law violations such as illegal collective actions and violent assemblies by various interest groups exploiting the election atmosphere, as well as acts that undermine law and order."

The government further remarked, "We will enhance oversight to ensure that public officials comply with their political neutrality obligations and do not engage in elections, and we will take strict action if any illegalities are discovered."

This presidential election will be held on June 3. Voters who find it difficult to vote on election day due to personal circumstances can participate in early voting, which will take place for two days on the 29th and 30th. The election campaign period is from today until the day before the election, June 2.
