Grandmother Lee Ok-sun, a victim of the Japanese military comfort women, passed away on the 11th at the age of 97.

Nanum House in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, announced that Grandmother Lee passed away at a nursing hospital in Seongnam around 8:05 p.m. on that day.

Grandmother Lee, originally from Busan, had been residing at Nanum House but had been staying in a nursing hospital since March of last year due to health issues. The funeral hall will be set up at Yongin Shuilnakwon Funeral Home.

With the passing of Grandmother Lee, only six registered comfort women victims remain alive.
