Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, will have a hearing regarding his application for a provisional injunction against the party's cancellation of candidate selection on the afternoon of the 10th.
The Seoul Southern District Court's Civil Division 51 (Chief Judge Kwon Seong-soo) will hold a hearing at 5 p.m. on this day regarding the provisional injunction application filed by Kim against the party to suspend the effect of the cancellation of his presidential candidacy.
The court had dismissed a provisional injunction application by Kim the previous day, which sought to recognize his status as a presidential candidate.
Earlier, the People Power Party held an emergency response committee and election management committee meeting early that morning, where it voted to cancel Kim's selection as a candidate and is in the process of replacing him with Han Duck-soo through a party-wide vote and national committee.
In response, Kim noted, "The emergency committee illegally deprived me, Kim Moon-soo, of my qualifications as a presidential candidate, which I was legitimately elected to by the people and party members," and filed the provisional injunction application.
