Two women have been indicted for allegedly extorting about 200 million won from YouTuber Tzuyang (real name Park Jeong-won).

According to the legal community on the 9th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 3 (Director General Choi Soon-ho) has indicted a woman in her 30s, referred to as A, and a woman in her 20s, referred to as B, for joint extortion under the Punishment of Violent Acts Act, without detention.

A and others are accused of extorting 216 million won from Tzuyang by threatening her from June 2021 until November of the following year. The money was delivered to the women through Tzuyang's YouTube channel producer.

Previously, Tzuyang stated in a YouTube video last July that "three years ago, my agency's representative (former boyfriend) brought up A and others and said, 'They are threatening you,' and suggested that I silence them with my money," adding, "With no choice, my producer went to meet the two and gave them 216 million won for nearly two years."

A and others had no prior acquaintance with Tzuyang. They reportedly began their threats after learning from Tzuyang’s agency representative that she had previously worked in an entertainment establishment.

The police, who initiated the investigation after receiving a report from the producer, applied for arrest warrants for A and others, but the court rejected them, stating there was no risk of fleeing. After taking over the case, the prosecution conducted supplementary investigations and indicted them.

Meanwhile, YouTuber Gu Jae-yeok (real name Lee Jun-hee) and lawyer Choi Mo, who were indicted for extorting tens of millions of won from Tzuyang, were sentenced to three years and two years in prison, respectively, last February. Additionally, the court sentenced YouTuber Ju Jak-gyeom-byeol-sa (real name Jeon Guk-jin), who is facing extortion charges, to one year in prison with a three-year probation, while YouTuber Cara Qula (real name Lee Se-wook), who is accused of aiding in extortion, also received one year in prison with a three-year probation, and Crocodile (real name Choi Il-hwan) was fined 5 million won.
