A Japanese woman who unexpectedly kissed Jin (real name Kim Seok-jin, 32), a member of the group Bangtan Sonyeondan (BTS), has been handed over to the prosecution.

The Songpa Police Station in Seoul stated on the 8th that they referred a woman in her 50s, identified as A, who kissed Jin, to the prosecution on charges of committing an act of sexual assault in a public place under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes.

A suddenly kissed Jin on the cheek during a hugging (free hug) event held at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium on June 13 last year. This scene spread on social media (SNS) and sparked a controversy over sexual assault, leading a netizen to report A to the police.

The police filed charges against A and requested her appearance, but determined that it was difficult to investigate as she was abroad, and decided to suspend the investigation in March. According to police investigation rules, if a suspect stays overseas for more than two months, preventing an investigation, the investigation can be suspended.

Subsequently, it is reported that A recently returned and voluntarily appeared before the police.

Meanwhile, another woman, identified as B, who is also suspected of having made an unexpected kiss, remains untraceable, leading to the suspension of the investigation.
