The Ministry of the Interior and Safety noted on the 8th that it has selected 12 regions to implement the "GO鄕ALL來" project this year.

"GO鄕ALL來" is a project aimed at attracting residential populations by utilizing the characteristics and resources of declining regions. The goal is to invigorate the local economy, and it has been in effect since 2023.

The ministry received project applications from 41 local governments between February and March this year. Afterward, 12 regions were selected following evaluations by a judging panel composed of private experts.

The selected local governments for this year's project include ▲Samcheok, Gangwon ▲Cheongju, Chungbuk ▲Jinan, Jeonbuk ▲Muju, Jeonbuk ▲Buyeo, Chungnam ▲Hampyeong, Jeonnam ▲Cheongdo, Gyeongbuk ▲Goseong, Gangwon ▲Wanju, Jeonbuk ▲Geochang, Gyeongnam ▲Iksan, Jeonbuk ▲Sangju, Gyeongbuk.

The government will provide a total of 10.6 billion won to the selected local governments this year. It plans to support each region with up to 1 billion won in earmarked tax (special), depending on the project scale.

Han Soon-ki, head of the Local Government Finance Division at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, said, "This project is expected to increase the influx of residential populations and boost local consumption by creatively and effectively utilizing the resources and characteristics of the regions."
