The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted on the 7th that the high temperature on the 8th, which is Parents' Day, will rise to 25 degrees. Afterward, the mountainous areas of Jeju are expected to receive up to 200mm of rain, while Honam and Gyeongnam may see up to 80mm of rainfall.
The weather will be like a rollercoaster for the time being. According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the low temperature on the morning of the 8th is expected to be between 6 and 13 degrees, and the daily high temperature is projected to be between 19 and 25 degrees. In the morning, it will be chilly due to the influence of a high-pressure system located over the Yellow Sea, but from the afternoon, warm south winds will blow, raising the temperature. The Korea Meteorological Administration noted, "The temperature difference between day and night could reach 15 to 20 degrees, so it would be wise to prepare light clothing with a light coat."
For the time being, rain will fall in various places. On the 9th, Jeju is expected to receive heavy rain at a rate of 30 to 50mm per hour, while the southern coast and near Jirisan will see around 20mm per hour. The expected precipitation on that day is up to 200mm in the mountainous areas of Jeju, 150mm in southern Jeju, up to 80mm in Honam and Gyeongnam, and between 20 and 60mm along the southern coast of Jeonnam, Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, 10 to 40mm in inland Gwangju, Jeonbuk, Daegu, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, and 30mm in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, Gangwon-do, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam.
In the metropolitan area, Gangwon, Chungbuk, Chungnam, and inland Jeonbuk, rain will fall until the early hours of the 10th, while in the western part of Gangwon, it will continue until the early morning of the 11th. The Korea Meteorological Administration noted, "In areas where it is raining, some roads may be slippery, so please pay attention to traffic safety."
