The Ministry of Education noted on the 2nd that it is preparing a plan to establish a support team to assist acting President Lee Joo-ho, who is also the Minister, in his national duties. The support team will play the role of the presidential office going forward.
According to the draft regulation on the establishment and operation of the presidential acting support team, administrative agencies to which the acting President belongs can establish a support team to assist in his duties.
The acting President assumed the acting position at midnight on the 1st after former acting President Han Duck-soo and former Minister Choi Sang-mok resigned in succession.
The Ministry of Education is reportedly preparing the plan for the support team by referencing examples from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and others.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economy and Finance formed a presidential acting support team led by Vice Minister Kim Bum-seok in February. At that time, the support team was operated in a structure of six teams: ▲Disaster security team ▲Schedule coordination team ▲Planning and coordination team ▲Messaging team ▲Diplomacy and security team ▲Public relations team.
