Acting President and Minister of Education Lee Joo-ho said on the 2nd, "I hope that North Korea cannot instigate any provocations or movements, and we maintain a thorough preparedness posture."
Acting President Lee made these remarks while presiding over the National Security Council (NSC) at the Government Seoul Complex that morning, stating, "It is the time when we must make every effort so that the public does not have any concerns about security instability."
He noted, "There must be no gaps in any field, including diplomacy, security, defense, and economy," and expressed that, "All ministries and agencies, as well as overseas locations, must not only manage crisis situations meticulously but also dedicate themselves to active work."
Meanwhile, Acting President Lee said, "All ministries and agencies should embody the spirit that they are the last bastion of national security, while prioritizing national interests above all things and working together as one team until the end."
Acting President Lee took over the acting position at midnight on the 1st, following the resignations of former Acting President Han Duck-soo and former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok.
