A large-scale rally is set to take place in various locations across downtown Seoul to mark Labor Day on the 1st.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, large-scale rallies are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. from the Taepyeong Intersection in Jung-gu, Seoul, extending to the Sungnyemun Intersection, Namdaemun Road, and Euljiro.
The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions will kick off with a pre-rally at Taepyeong-ro starting at noon and will hold the '2025 World Labor Day Rally' from 2:30 p.m. in the section from Taepyeong Intersection to Sungnyemun Intersection. After the rally, participants will march in two segments: from City Hall Intersection to Gwanghwamun Intersection and from Bank of Korea Intersection to Euljiro 2-ga. The reported number of participants is 20,000.
The Korean Trade Union Confederation will hold the 'National Workers' Rally for World Labor Day' in the area of Gwanghwamun Dongsipjak at 2 p.m. with 30,000 reported participants. Additionally, the Free Unification Party has announced a rally and march in front of the Donghwa Duty-Free Shop and around Euljiro 1-ga Intersection, also reporting 30,000 participants.
The police plan to manage traffic flow as much as possible around the rally and march areas by operating variable lanes, and approximately 220 traffic officers will be deployed to manage detours and traffic.
A police official said, "Please use the subway if possible, and if you must use a vehicle, check traffic information in advance."
