On the 1st, the Supreme Court ruled that the remarks made by Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, regarding Kim Moon-ki constituted false information, thus overturning the lower court's not guilty verdict.

The problematic remark was made when Lee Jae-myung appeared on a broadcast in December 2021, while he was the candidate for the 20th presidential election. He stated that he "did not play golf with Kim, the late head of Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, who was a key practitioner of the Daejang-dong project during his tenure as Seongnam mayor," during an overseas trip with Kim.
