The prosecution is conducting a search and seizure at former President Yoon Suk-yeol's residence in Acro Vista, Seocho-dong, Seoul.
The Southern District Prosecutors' Office's Joint Investigation Team on Virtual Asset Crimes (Director General Park Geon-wook) announced on the 30th that they are conducting a search related to allegations of violations of the Unfair Solicitation Act concerning the case of Jeon Seong-bae, known as "Geonjin Beopsa," involving former President Yoon's residence.
While investigating the case of Jeon, the prosecution reportedly captured evidence suggesting that a high-ranking member of the Unification Church delivered a diamond necklace and an expensive bag to Jeon under the pretense of a gift for Kim Keon-hee.
The prosecution is said to have conducted the search today to confirm whether the items suspected to have been received by Jeon were actually delivered to Kim.
Jeon is known to have been active in President Yoon Suk-yeol's presidential campaign in the past. Allegations have emerged that Jeon's family flaunted their ties with the former President and his wife to intervene in privileges. Jeon also served as an advisor at Kovana Contents, which was previously operated by Kim Keon-hee.
