The wildfire at Mount Hamji in North Daegu reignited on the 30th.

North Daegu sent out a disaster text message that day, stating, "At 3:06 p.m., the wildfire at Mount Hamji is spreading," and advised local residents near Seobyeondong to evacuate immediately to Dongbyeon Middle School, Yeonggyeong Elementary School, Paldal Elementary School, and Bukbu Elementary School.

According to forestry authorities, the wildfire at Mount Hamji ignited around 2:01 p.m. on the 28th. It spread due to strong winds, and the authorities managed to contain the main fire around 12:55 p.m. on the 29th, approximately 23 hours later.

However, embers remained in the fallen leaves on the mountain. Due to these embers, the wildfire at Mount Hamji partially reignited and was suppressed repeatedly.

As the wildfire at Mount Hamji rekindled, the National Fire Agency reissued a national fire mobilization order at 5:47 p.m. that same day. Earlier, the fire agency had issued a national fire mobilization order at 4:05 p.m. on the 28th, when the wildfire started to spread, and lifted the order the next day at 1:23 p.m. after the main fire was contained.

A national fire mobilization order is issued by the head of the fire agency when it is recognized that firefighting efforts by specific provinces are insufficient to respond to a disaster such as a fire, or when there is a need to mobilize firefighting resources at the national level to the disaster site.

The fire agency also issued a first-phase fire response order at 5:50 p.m. that day. Currently, a total of 43 helicopters are involved in wildfire suppression, including 19 by forestry authorities, 4 by fire authorities, 15 rented helicopters, 4 military helicopters, and 1 police helicopter. In addition, 45 vehicles and 196 personnel are engaged in wildfire suppression operations. With the issuance of the national fire mobilization order, the Gyeongbuk Fire Department has sent 10 pieces of equipment, including 5 pump trucks and 5 water tankers, to support the wildfire suppression at Mount Hamji.
