Around 7:31 p.m. on the 29th, a fire broke out again on Hanjisan Mountain in the Buk District of Daegu.
According to the Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters, the point where the fire reignited is on the seventh ridge in the direction of the summit, near Baengnyeonsa Temple in Guamdong, Buk District, Daegu. The firefront is reported to be about 30 meters long. Residents in the area saw flames from the back of Hanjigo Mountain and reported the forest fire to the fire authorities 78 times as of 8:20 p.m.
Fire authorities and the Buk District Office are deploying 55 personnel and 16 fire trucks and equipment to extinguish the forest fire. Helicopters from the Korea Forest Service are scheduled to be deployed starting at sunrise on the 30th.
A forest fire occurred on Hanjisan Mountain at around 2:01 p.m. on the 28th, burning an area of 260 hectares within the affected zone and was extinguished after 23 hours. This resulted in nearby residents having to evacuate.
