The Korea Forest Service reported that as of 12 a.m. on the 29th, the firefighting rate of the wildfire in the Hamjisan area of Buk-gu, Daegu, was 54%. They also estimated the affected area of the wildfire to be 202 hectares.
Previously, a fire broke out at approximately 2:01 p.m. on the 28th in the Hamjisan area of Buk-gu, Daegu. The total length of the fire line for this wildfire is 11.1 kilometers, with a residual fire line length of 5.1 kilometers.
Currently, the wildfire site is experiencing a northwesterly wind with an average wind speed of 1.9 m/s.
The City of Daegu and forest authorities plan to resume firefighting operations with the deployment of 38 helicopters and two mobile tanks with a capacity of 40,000 liters at sunrise that morning.
