Korea University announced on the 28th that it is receiving anonymous donations ranging from billions to hundreds of millions of won to mark its 120th anniversary.
According to Korea University, two anonymous donors contributed 7 billion won and 3 billion won respectively this month. Earlier this year, donations of 12.5 billion won and 20 billion won were received.
Korea University plans to broadly utilize the donations for key projects such as the construction of the Natural Science Central Square and Humanities Building, hiring endowed professors, multicultural scholarship programs, and global academic forums.
President Kim Dong-won noted, “I will do my best to ensure that we can leap forward into a university that meets the expectations of each donor.”
The celebration for the 120th anniversary of Korea University will be held on May 5.
