A fire broke out at the Park One building in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, on the 28th and was extinguished in about 14 minutes. There were no casualties.
According to the fire authorities, a report was received that a fire had occurred at the NH Investment & Securities warehouse located on the 3rd floor of one of the Park One buildings, the NH Financial Tower (Tower 2), at approximately 9:44 a.m. It is reported that the notification was made by an employee of a department store located in Park One.
Firefighters arrived at the scene at around 9:51 a.m. and began extinguishing the fire, which was completely put out by approximately 9:58 a.m., 14 minutes after it started. A total of 24 vehicles and 76 personnel were involved in the firefighting efforts.
Although there were no injuries from the fire, more than 500 people, including staff and visitors, were evacuated. The building that caught fire has 7 basement floors and 53 above-ground floors.
A fire department official said, "We are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire."
