Jongno Academy analyzed that as the preference for teacher training colleges among examinees declines, the passing scores are gradually decreasing.
On the same day, Jongno Academy released an analysis of the 2025 entrance exam passing scores for five universities: Seoul National University of Education, Chuncheon National University of Education, Cheongju National University of Education, Gwangju National University of Education, and Korea National University of Education.
According to Jongno Academy, a candidate with a grade of 6 in the school records was successful in the 2025 teacher training college regular admission general screening. In the special screening for the general department (special screening for beneficiaries of national merit), there was also a successful candidate with a grade of 7 in school records.
Looking at each school, Chuncheon National University of Education saw its passing score for the general admission screening drop to a grade of 6.15, which is more than a full grade lower than the 2024 score of 4.73. The passing score for the general admission screening at Seoul National University of Education is 2.10, down from 1.97 last year.
Cheongju National University of Education dropped from 2.92 to 3.44 in grade, while Korea National University of Education dropped from 2.05 to 2.25. Gwangju National University of Education maintained the same grade of 3.54 as the previous year.
The passing scores for the regular admissions of the five teacher training colleges also decreased. At Seoul National University of Education, a minimum of 618.41 points is required based on its own conversion score criteria, which is a decrease from 621.74 points last year. Korea National University of Education's regular admission passing score also fell from 90.29 points to 89.21 points.
Gwangju National University of Education fell from 72.17 points to 68.33 points. Chuncheon National University of Education's regular admission grade dropped from 3.63 to 3.82. Cheongju National University of Education's regular admission grade slightly increased from 3.38 to 3.25.
Meanwhile, the total number of admissions for these five universities for the 2025 academic year is 1,258, a decrease of 10.3% compared to the previous year.
