All four wildfires that broke out in Gyeongbuk have been extinguished at an early stage.
A wildfire that occurred at around 9:42 a.m. on the 26th at a mountain in Geochon-ri, Bonghwa-eup, Bonghwa-gun, was extinguished in about 38 minutes.
In the afternoon, a wildfire broke out at a mountain in Dongwon-ri, Dansan-myeon, Yeongju. This wildfire, which occurred around 2:30 p.m., was extinguished at approximately 3:48 p.m., after 1 hour and 18 minutes.
Next, a wildfire that erupted at around 3:15 p.m. at a mountain in Dasan-ri, Gangdong-myeon, Gyeongju was extinguished at approximately 4 p.m., after 45 minutes.
At around 3:36 p.m., a wildfire that broke out in Manseok-ri, Sinho-myeon, Pohang, was put out at approximately 3:58 p.m., after 22 minutes.
Forest authorities have taken action to extinguish the wildfires that occurred in the Gyeongbuk region that day, successfully extinguishing all at an early stage. The only remaining wildfire is the one that broke out in Inje, Gangwon Province. The forest authorities have issued a Stage 2 response to the Inje wildfire and are conducting firefighting operations.
