American YouTuber Johnny Somali, who sparked controversy by engaging in insulting actions such as kissing the 'Statue of Peace,' is reportedly experiencing financial difficulties, noted Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University, who stated, “self-inflicted wounds.”

Professor Seo said on the 25th through social media (SNS) that the YouTuber 'Legal Mindset,' who has provided updates on Somali's trial process, recently revealed a Telegram message sent by Somali's associate. He continued, "According to the message, Somali's associate said, 'The lawyer fees are too burdensome. If there are those who can help, please donate,' sharing a PayPal account where donations can be sent."

Professor Seo mentioned, "The associate pleaded, 'Somali is banned from leaving the country, cannot work in Korea, and is not receiving any support,' adding that the phrase 'self-inflicted wounds' comes to mind due to Somali's dire downfall caused by his own words and actions."

Somali is a YouTuber who has engaged in bizarre behavior, such as using the Rising Sun Flag and referring to Dokdo as 'Takeshima' (the name claimed by Japan). Professor Seo highlighted that the occurrence of copycat crimes by foreign YouTubers due to Somali is also a problem, stating, "There should be severe punishment for Somali, who is currently on trial, to set a precedent."
