A person in their 50s has turned themselves in to the police after murdering a woman in Seoraksan.

According to police reports, at around midnight on the 24th, a 50-year-old individual, referred to as A, turned themselves in at the Gangneung Police Station, stating, "I killed a 60-year-old individual, B, near the Seoraksan National Park trail in Sokcho 10 days ago." It is reported that A was somewhat intoxicated at the time of surrender.

The police, who urgently arrested A on murder charges, discovered B's body near the Seoraksan trail at around 6:58 a.m. that same day.

The location where the body was found is remote, away from hiking trails or roads, and it is known that the two individuals had a business relationship.

A reportedly stated to the police, "The business I was running with B was facing difficulties, and we were trying to make a drastic choice together while traveling around the eastern coast, including Gangneung and Sokcho." A also said, "I attempted suicide with B, but I survived alone after killing B."

It was found that B's family had reported B missing after B did not return home.

The police are investigating the specifics of A's motives and the circumstances of the incident.
