According to the Seoul Metropolitan Transit Corporation, around 7:20 a.m. that day, a malfunction occurred at a switch near Gangil Station in Gangdong District, causing trains to be unable to operate in both directions between Hanam Geomdansan Station and Sangil-dong Station. Train operations, which had been suspended, resumed around 7:54 a.m.
The Seoul Metropolitan Transit Corporation is investigating the specific cause of the switch malfunction.
