The Korea Environment Corporation reported that a fine dust advisory was issued for Seoul at 11 p.m. on the 24th.
The average fine dust concentration in the Seoul area is 91㎍ (micrograms) per cubic meter.
A fine dust advisory is issued when the average fine dust concentration exceeds 75㎍/㎥ for 2 hours.
When the concentration of fine dust or ultra-fine dust increases in the air, seniors, children, individuals with respiratory diseases, and those with cardiovascular diseases should refrain from outdoor activities.
Healthy adults should also reduce outdoor activity time and wear masks when going out.
Ultra-fine dust is particularly harmful to the human body due to its size, which is about one-thirtieth the thickness of a human hair, allowing it to bypass filters in the respiratory system and penetrate into the alveoli, thus requiring caution.
