The National Disability Discrimination Elimination Coalition (Jeonjangyeon) held a protest on the morning of the 24th at the platform of Hyehwa Station on Subway Line 4 in Seoul, but the subway authorities removed them outside the station.

About 10 activists from Jeonjangyeon conducted a 'silent protest' at Hyehwa Station starting at 8 a.m. They held up placards urging Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon to restore public jobs centered on the rights of people with severe disabilities.

Seoul Transportation Corporation requested the protesters to vacate the area, declaring the protest illegal. When the protesters did not comply, around 8:17 a.m., the corporation called in a subway security officer to remove Jeonjangyeon's co-representative Lee Hyung-sook from the station. The remaining protesters, who were in a standoff, sat down on the platform in resistance but withdrew around 8:30 a.m.

Jeonjangyeon had occupied the Hyehwa Station platform for three consecutive days of protests since the 22nd. In all three instances, the Seoul Transportation Corporation forcibly evicted them. On the 21st, they resumed a 'boarding protest' that disrupts subway operations for the first time in about a year.

From 9 a.m. on that day, Jeonjangyeon continued a gathering in front of the main gate of Hyehwa-dong Cathedral, urging guarantees for the right to deinstitutionalization. This comes as the Korean Catholic Church opposes the deinstitutionalization policy for people with disabilities. Jeonjangyeon has been occupying the cross tower of Hyehwa-dong Cathedral since the 18th, entering a high-altitude sit-in.

The Parents Association of Users of Residential Facilities for the Disabled plans to hold a counter-protest condemning Jeonjangyeon's occupation of the cross tower of Hyehwa-dong Cathedral at 10 a.m. on that day.
