On the 24th, the prosecution searched the offices of MBK Partners, a private equity fund management company. This is to investigate allegations that it used undisclosed information during the management rights dispute involving Korea Zinc.
On the same day, the Financial and Securities Crimes Joint Investigation Division of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Director General Ahn Chang-joo) conducted searches at a total of 12 locations, including the MBK headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and the residences of executives.
The prosecution is reportedly looking into whether MBK Partners used undisclosed information and engaged in fraudulent trading during the management rights dispute with Korea Zinc last year.
Earlier, on the 23rd, the prosecution had also conducted searches at a total of 11 locations, including the offices of Korea Zinc, which is under suspicion of fraudulent trading related to capital increases, and its underwriter, Mirae Asset Securities, as well as five executive residences.
