On the 23rd, police filed a warrant to detain a man in his 30s who wielded a weapon at a mart in Mia-dong, Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of a passerby.

On the same day, the Gangbuk Police Department reported that it had applied for a detention warrant against Mr. A, who was arrested in the act of murder the previous day. Mr. A was caught at a mart near Mia Station around 6:20 p.m. after fatally injuring a woman in her 60s with a weapon and injuring a woman in her 40s. Police are investigating him on murder charges.

It has been revealed that Mr. A remained calm after the crime, smoking a cigarette in a nearby alley and reportedly turned himself in. Just before the crime, he took out soju displayed at the mart and drank it, and he attacked the victims with the packaging of the weapon. Additionally, after the commotion, he left the scene after placing the weapon used in the attack among the snacks displayed at the front counter.

Mr. A, who was wearing patient clothes at the time of the crime, is said to be giving inconsistent statements regarding his motive and other details.

The Northern District Court of Seoul is scheduled to hold a pre-trial hearing for Mr. A at 10:30 a.m. on the 24th.
