The court presiding over the Daejangdong case of Lee Jae-myung, former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, has decided to maintain the scheduled date in May. It did not accept the prosecutors' request to postpone the trial to the end of May.

The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Division 33, headed by Director General Lee Jin-gwan, noted on the 22nd during the trial for the Daejangdong, Wirye, Baekhyeon-dong, and Seongnam FC cases involving the former leader that "the court has thought about various considerations, but we will proceed as originally scheduled." This means that it will not set an additional trial date for the 23rd of next month. During the trial on the 8th, the court had suggested the 23rd, but after the defense rejected it due to a scheduling conflict, it designated the 13th and 27th instead.

In response, the prosecution demanded on the 15th the designation of the 23rd as the trial date. The prosecution claimed at the time, "From what we understand, there is no trial schedule for the 23rd for Lee Jae-myung and others." The court stated on that day, "It is true that we did not set it due to other trial dates on the 23rd. (However) I remember there were several other circumstances at that time." It added, "Considering those circumstances, we have decided not to set an additional date."

During the trial that day, as the process for renewing the trial due to the change of judges came to an end, both sides engaged in a repeated confrontation over the trial procedures. The prosecution requested that the rapid proceedings regarding the Daejangdong-related testimony of Yoon Dong-kyu, former head of the Seongnam Urban Development Corporation's planning department, be expedited, while the defense suggested listening to the so-called "Jung Yong-hak transcript" submitted early in the prosecution's investigation.
