After a short period of clear weather, Tuesday, the 22nd, will see mostly cloudy skies and rain nationwide.
In Jeju Island, rain will begin late at night on the 21st, while the metropolitan area, South Chungcheong Province, North Jeolla Province, and western South Gyeongsang Province will start seeing rain from early morning on the 22nd, expanding throughout most areas by morning. The rain will mostly stop by late at night.
The expected precipitation amounts are 10 to 50 mm in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province, the five West Sea islands, and Gangwon Province; 10 to 40 mm in Daejeon, Sejong, South Chungcheong Province, North Chungcheong Province, North Jeolla Province, Daegu, North Gyeongsang Province, and Ulleungdo and Dokdo; 20 to 60 mm in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, Busan, Ulsan, South Gyeongsang Province, and northern Jeju Island (with higher amounts of over 80 mm in the southern coasts of Jeolla and Gyeongsang, and near Jiri Mountain); and 30 to 80 mm in Jeju Island (excluding the north, where it can exceed 120 mm in some areas).
In Jeju Island, there will be strong and heavy rainfall of 20 to 30 mm per hour, and along the southern coast and near Jiri Mountain, heavy rain of 10 to 20 mm per hour may occur. In the southern regions and Jeju Island, there will be places with strong winds and thunder and lightning.
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 11 and 17 degrees, while the afternoon high temperatures will range from 16 to 21 degrees.
The fine dust concentration will show 'good' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersal and the effects of rain.
Until dawn, there will be areas with fog reducing visibility to less than 1 km mainly in the western regions. There will be sea fog over the West Sea and South Sea, and particularly in island regions, dense fog with visibility below 200 m may occur along with drizzling.
In most areas nationwide, the wind will blow strongly with gusts around 55 km/h. Particularly along the Jeonnam coast, Gyeongnam coast, and Jeju Island, winds may gust over 70 km/h (over 90 km/h in mountainous areas).
In most maritime areas, excluding the West Sea's near sea and central offshore areas, and the East Sea's central near sea, winds will blow very strongly at 30 to 60 km/h, and waves will be very high.
The waves at sea are expected to be 0.5 to 3.5 m in the East Sea and South Sea near shore, and 0.5 to 2.0 m in the West Sea near shore. The wave heights in the offshore areas (about 200 km from the coastline) are expected to be 1.0 to 4.0 m in the East Sea and South Sea, and 1.0 to 3.5 m in the West Sea.
