In the future, the period of National Pension enrollment that will be additionally included during military service will be extended from 6 months to 1 year. It has been specified that any period less than 1 month will be counted as '1 month'. To prove this, a military service certificate must be submitted.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare noted on the 21st that it will announce amendments to the enforcement decree and enforcement rules of the National Pension Act by June 2.
This amendment to the subordinate regulations follows the revision of the National Pension Act, which was promulgated on the 2nd. The revised National Pension Act includes an increase in the contribution rate to 13%, an increase in the income replacement rate to 43%, the specification of state payment guarantees, an expansion of military service and childbirth credits, and support for contributions of low-income regional subscribers.
The announced enforcement decree specifies that for calculating the military service credit period, expanded from the previous 6 months to a service period (up to 12 months), any period less than 1 month will be considered as 1 month.
The income standard for low-income regional subscribers eligible for contribution support will be set as the amount announced by the Minister, taking into account the standard monthly income and distribution status.
In addition, according to amendments to other regulations, the tax-exempt benefit limit included in income for domestic and foreign deep-sea fishermen has been raised from 3 million won to 5 million won.
The enforcement rules have also been amended. For claims of old age pension, detailed certificates regarding family relation certificates must be submitted for childbirth credit eligibility, and military service certificates for military service credit eligibility, establishing regulations related to the required documents.
Opinions regarding the subordinate regulations can be submitted to the National Pension Policy Division of the Ministry of Health and Welfare or to the "National Participation Legislative Center" during the notification period.
