The Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism Social Welfare Foundation noted on the 20th that during the 'I’m Going to the Temple, Ssanggyesa' temple stay held from April 18 to 19 at Ssanggyesa in Hadong County, 9 pairs among 24 participants confirmed their feelings for each other and were matched as couples.
According to the foundation, this result marks the highest match rate to date. In 'I’m Going to the Temple, Ssanggyesa,' a total of 1,332 people applied to participate, including 699 men and 633 women in their 20s and 30s, among whom 24 were selected as final participants.
On the first day of the event, Chief Administrative Officer Jinwoo of the Jogye Order expressed, "I hope that all participants gathered here today overcome themselves and meet precious connections to spend their lives with."
The foundation coordinated meetings for 160 unmarried individuals through a total of six similar events last year, and at that time, 33 pairs became couples. However, as of March this year, only five couples are said to be continuing their relationships, with no cases of marriage or childbirth reported yet.
