The Organized Crime Division under the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office's Drug and Organized Crime Department has operated a system called "Let us know if it's real" call center (Real Center), which allows citizens to verify the authenticity of documents such as names of prosecutors and investigators, warrants, and summons they receive from voice phishing criminal organizations. However, this service was available only via a direct mobile phone number.

To enhance accessibility to the "Real Center" service, the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office established the KakaoTalk channel "Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office Real Center" on the 3rd. Citizens can add the channel as a friend by searching for "Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office Real Center" in KakaoTalk Open Chat.

An official from the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office said, "If a suspicious voice phishing call comes in, please hang up immediately and verify the impersonation of prosecutors and the authenticity of documents such as warrants and summons through the Real Center KakaoTalk channel or the direct phone number."

Meanwhile, the Supreme Public Prosecutors' Office transferred the "Real Center" established at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office to the Organized Crime Division in February. Since the transfer, the Real Center has handled 4,298 consultations in February and 4,669 in March, a level that is about twice the average monthly volume of 2,291 cases from last year.
