The Southern Gyeonggi Police Agency's Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Investigation Unit sent investigators from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to conduct searches at six locations, including the Gyeonggi Province Election Commission and the residence of a suspect in the case.

Earlier, the National Election Commission referred the investigation of 11 individuals, including the children of high-ranking officials suspected of 'preferential hiring,' to the police on the 7th of last month. They face allegations of abuse of power, obstruction of public duties by coercion, and violations of the National Public Service Act. The Election Commission believes these individuals conspired to solicit hiring favors with their fathers, uncles, and sons-in-law, who are high-ranking public officials.

A police official noted, "The necessity of a search and seizure arose during the investigation of related parties, which is why the warrant was executed today," adding, "It is currently an ongoing investigation, so it is difficult to provide detailed explanations."
