Actor Kim Soo-hyun's side filed a complaint against malicious commenters and cyber bullies.

Kim Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, noted that "malicious posts and comments against Kim Soo-hyun, as well as false information, are being indiscriminately posted and spread online," and announced that it submitted a complaint to the investigative agency against those responsible for defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and information protection on the 14th.

Gold Medalist stated that "the behavior of the 'cyber bully' who creates fake news and produces videos and shorts that lead to cyber bullying, taking advantage of anonymity, is serious" and added, "As the identity of the cyber bully has recently been revealed and legal action is being taken, we will also strongly respond to overseas platforms like YouTube and X in connection with overseas legal representatives."

It added, "We plan to continue additional complaints against malicious posts that defame the artist's reputation and will do our best to protect the artist's rights with strong legal measures against clear criminal acts."

Kim Soo-hyun was embroiled in controversy after the YouTube channel "Garosero Research Institute" (hereafter "Gaseyeon") claimed, citing a phone call with the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron, that Kim Soo-hyun had dated Kim Sae-ron, who was 15 at the time, for six years.

Kim Soo-hyun's side acknowledged the fact of dating Kim Sae-ron but refuted the claim that they dated from the time Kim Sae-ron was a minor. Kim Soo-hyun has filed a complaint against Gaseyeon's operator, Kim Se-hee, and the family of Kim Sae-ron for violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and information protection, and has also initiated a lawsuit seeking 11 billion won in damages.
