With the fierce winds, outdoor structures collapsed one after another, causing vehicles to be covered. At about 10:50 a.m., a signboard installed in the entertainment district of Ingyedong in Suwon fell onto parked cars, and just 20 minutes earlier, a several-meter-long wall collapsed onto the pedestrian path near Suwon Station. In a section of an intersection in Munnye-myeon, Haenam County, Jeollanam-do, some areas were flooded due to heavy rain, blocking vehicle traffic for about 40 minutes. The previous night, in Toji-myeon, Gurye County, Jeollanam-do, an accident occurred when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) tipped over while trying to avoid rocks on a mountain road, resulting in minor injuries to the driver.

Additionally, reports of damage to facilities due to strong winds were received from various regions across Chungbuk, Gangwon, Busan, and Gyeongnam, with local governments and fire departments conducting emergency safety measures.

Power outages also occurred. At 6 a.m. on that day, the roof of an abandoned factory in Samnam-eup, Ulsan, was blown off by strong winds, hitting a power pole and causing outages for about 50 nearby households. At 11 a.m. in Singok-dong, Uijeongbu, a branch that was bent by the wind touched high voltage lines, causing a temporary power outage for 853 household units, and power supply was cut off for about an hour in the apartments and commercial areas of Maetan-dong, Yeongtong District, Suwon, causing residents to experience inconvenience for about an hour.

In Dong-gu, Busan, a power outage occurred around 3:30 a.m. affecting over 140 households, but was restored within 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the strong winds and high waves have caused disruptions to ferry operations in the Jeonnam region. As of 3 p.m. that day, 31 out of 52 ferry routes had suspended operations.

A representative from the Korea Meteorological Administration urged, “There is concern about damages from falling objects such as banners and tree branches, and pedestrians and drivers should take extra caution.”
