Lee Ju-ho, the Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Minister of Education, noted on the 10th that 'it seems good to see children enjoying classes with (AI digital textbooks)' and said, 'I have become confident that this policy will take root in the field.'

The Deputy Prime Minister made these remarks while observing a class using AI textbooks at Yonggye Elementary School in Daegu.

Starting this year, all elementary, middle, and high schools can autonomously utilize AI textbooks in classrooms from the new school year. Initially, the Ministry of Education planned to implement it across all schools, but due to opposition from the opposition party, schools were allowed to adopt it voluntarily.

Since the new school year began this year, Yonggye Elementary School has been using AI textbooks in English and math classes for 3rd and 4th grades.

The Deputy Prime Minister remarked, 'This is a moment where we are introducing (AI textbooks) for the first time after long preparation,' and stated, 'AI textbooks are tools that significantly transform the nature of classes.'

He added, 'While it is important to create, distribute, and build infrastructure for good AI textbooks, the most crucial thing is for teachers to use them to develop new classes.'
