Jeon Han-gil, a Korean history instructor who has led the opposition movement against former President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment, declared a ban on political statements in his lecture cafe.

On the 5th, Jeon posted an article on the official lecture cafe regarding the national civil service level 5 examination results and overall evaluations, stating, "All political posts unrelated to the nature of the cafe have been deleted," and requested, "In the future, please only post articles that fit the nature of this cafe."

Having made a name for himself as a "top instructor in Korean history," Jeon participated multiple times in rallies opposing former President Yoon's impeachment, taking the stage as a speaker. His support for martial law and alignment with allegations of election fraud sparked debates among students.

At that time, Jeon stated on his cafe, "I judged that protecting liberal democracy is more important than a 6 billion won salary," adding, "Even if I am criticized now, I believe there will come a time when my sincerity will be recognized, and I will act as if I am conducting an independence movement for the sake of saving South Korea."

However, many of Jeon's past posts and supportive comments remain, leading to interpretations that the "political statements" he mentioned might refer to posts from members rather than himself.

Jeon also appealed for support, arguing that a response was needed after former President Yoon was ousted by the Constitutional Court's impeachment ruling. On the 4th, in a live broadcast on his YouTube channel, Jeon appeared shocked, banging his desk and cradling his face upon hearing the news of Yoon's removal.

He then asked for donations for victory in the "early presidential election," stating, "I will prepare for the next election," and expressed, "I will predict who can defeat Lee Jae-myung."

In response to criticism, he noted through the news platform he created, "Jeon Han-gil News," that he has earned over 18 billion won in revenue over three years and pays around 2.7 billion won in annual taxes, stating, "By December 2024, I will have already secured a long-term contract worth 6 billion won, ensuring stable income for the coming years."

He added, "To interpret the reason he has put aside all the revenue he has enjoyed until now to step into politics as money is nothing short of absurd."
