Live ammunition was found in a trash can at Incheon International Airport's passenger terminal, prompting police to begin an investigation.

According to the Incheon Airport Police Division on the 6th, a report was received from a sanitation worker stating that four rounds of live ammunition were discovered in the trash can on the 3rd floor of the departure area (landside) of Terminal 2 at Incheon Airport around 8 a.m. on the 1st. Police confirmed at the scene that the ammunition was identified as 5.56mm cartridges for rifles.

Police reviewed nearby closed-circuit (CC) television footage but have not yet identified the person who discarded the ammunition in the trash can. They plan to continue analyzing the CCTV while proceeding with the investigation.
