On the 4th, the Constitutional Court unanimously decided to remove former President Yoon Suk-yeol, and the presidential flag (the phoenix flag) was also lowered at the presidential office in Yongsan, Seoul.
The phoenix flag, which had been flying at the main entrance flagpole of the presidential office, was taken down around 11:40 a.m. that day.
The phoenix flag symbolizes the head of state in our country and is regularly flown during the presidential term. The phoenix flag, featuring two imagined phoenixes facing each other along with a hibiscus pattern, was first used in January 1967 during the presidency of Park Chung-hee.
