On the 4th, the day the Constitutional Court announces its ruling on the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol, security will be tightened at five major stadiums across the country where professional baseball games will be held.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) on the 3rd to enhance security at stadiums and to cooperate regarding spectator safety. A ministry official noted, "Professional baseball stadiums are places where many people gather," and added, "In case of emergencies, we requested the KBO to thoroughly check belongings and to ensure they watch closely to prevent spectators from causing disturbances."
On the 4th, the KBO Secretariat delivered a cooperation letter containing the ministry's requests to five teams hosting home games: LG Twins, SSG Landers, Samsung Lions, Kiwoom Heroes, and Lotte Giants. Each team plans to coordinate with the police to prepare for any disturbances.
According to regulations, the KBO will limit personal items to one bag and one shopping bag per person and prohibit the entry of alcohol, bottles, and beverages in PET bottles exceeding 1 liter and aluminum cans.
Items that may threaten the safety of players and spectators are also prohibited. Large banners that express political slogans or phrases are not allowed.
