Six additional victims of the 'wildfire situation' have been confirmed, raising the death toll to 82.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters on the 3rd, as of 9 p.m. on that day, one person was seriously injured and five sustained minor injuries, bringing the total number of casualties from the wildfire situation to 82.
One seriously injured person suffered burns over their entire body. They were not included in the initial casualty count but were confirmed during the damage assessment process. Most of the five minor injuries were also identified late in the damage assessment process.
Currently, the total casualties include 31 dead, 9 seriously injured, and 42 with minor injuries. By region, the most severe damage occurred in North Gyeongsang Province, where there were 27 deaths, 4 serious injuries, and 35 minor injuries, totaling 66 victims. In South Gyeongsang Province, there were 4 deaths, 5 serious injuries, and 5 minor injuries, totaling 14 victims, while Ulsan reported 2 minor injuries.
