eSports team T1 announced on the 1st that its pro gamer 'Faker', Lee Sang-hyeok, donated 50 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association for wildfire recovery.
The donation is expected to be used for providing emergency relief supplies to residents in wildfire-affected areas such as Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, operating temporary shelters, and supporting recovery and daily life restoration.
Faker said, "I hope this can help those affected by the wildfire. I wanted to lend support so that everyone can return to a stable daily life as soon as possible," and added, "I pray that no further damage occurs and that a swift recovery is achieved."
The scale of the wildfire damage continues to grow as over 3,700 dwellings have been burned in northern Gyeongbuk, and more than 3,300 residents are unable to return home. The number of fatalities from this wildfire now stands at 26, including a helicopter pilot who crashed.
