The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 1st that approximately 4.4 billion won in hometown love donations has been raised for the eight local governments declared as special disaster areas. This is the amount collected from March 21, when the wildfire occurred, until March 31, for a period of 10 days. This represents 69% of the total amount raised for hometown love donations during the same period (approximately 6.4 billion won).
By region, ▲ Ulsan Ulju-gun 180 million won ▲ Gyeongbuk Andong-si 790 million won, ▲ Gyeongbuk Uiseong-gun 1.12 billion won ▲ Gyeongbuk Cheongsong-gun 270 million won ▲ Gyeongbuk Yeongyang-gun 220 million won ▲ Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok-gun 1.4 billion won ▲ Gyeongnam Sancheong-gun 270 million won ▲ Gyeongnam Hadong-gun 150 million won, etc.
Deputy Minister Kim Min-jae noted, "I appreciate the citizens who are supporting the wildfire-affected areas through hometown love donations," and added, "The government will do its best to ensure that the residents of the affected areas can quickly recover their daily lives."
