The law firm Daeryuk Aju, led by representative attorney Lee Kyu-cheol, donated 100 million won in relief funds for the Yeongnam wildfire victims to the Community Chest of Korea on the 31st. Daeryuk Aju also plans to provide legal support for the affected residents.
According to Daeryuk Aju, representative attorney Lee Kyu-cheol visited the Community Chest of Korea in Jung-gu, Seoul, on that day to deliver a donation of 100 million won. In addition to corporate funds, attorneys, advisors, and employees affiliated with Daeryuk Aju are voluntarily raising additional funds. They plan to deliver this as well.
Representative Lee Kyu-cheol said, "I extend my heartfelt condolences to the residents who have lost their families and homes due to the worst wildfire in history." He added, "In hopes that the affected area will quickly recover and residents can return to their daily lives, we will provide legal support in addition to the donation."
Daeryuk Aju plans to provide legal assistance centered around a public interest committee chaired by former Secretary-General of the Constitutional Court Kim Yong-heon. The committee will actively respond to requests for support from relevant local governments regarding the following legal issues for affected residents: ▲ assessment of damages and support for compensation claims ▲ receipt of insurance payments for victims ▲ legal issues related to the reconstruction or relocation of dwellings ▲ legal issues on compensation for agricultural and livestock producers.
